We believe in supporting the community which supports us, so we source locally whenever possible, from our flowers to our steaks and our beer. Locally sourced, fresh, seasonal Yorkshire ingredients, cooked simply and served in a welcoming atmosphere.

The majority of the chef’s ingredients are sourced locally, with meat and poultry from Rusby’s Farm in Penistone We aim to minimise food miles, ensuring absolute freshness, and just about everything, including the pie pastry is freshly made onsite..

1776 RESTAURANT

Fabulous homemade food with all the frills but none of the fuss. Relax in the warm traditional surroundings of our oak beamed dining room. Our seasonal a la carte menu is carefully put together by our head chef who specialises in British classics. Plus we’ve got plenty of perfectly matched wines or cask ales to compliment each of our dishes.

Explore our menu and let the dishes speak for themselves.

Passion for excellence is a must have trait in our kitchen, be it our newest apprentice or our head chef. This shines through in the care and quality put into our food.

The dishes we create reflect the growing trend towards seasonal, locally produced, homemade and down-to-earth food without all the fuss. Working with neighbouring farmers to seek out the finest in regional and local organic produce, is the essence of the cuisine in our pub and restaurant.

Keeping things simple on the bar menu allows us to use the specials board to bring more adventurous or just different classical favourites of our customers on a daily or weekly basis, so there is always something for everyone.

Our seasonal restaurant menu and specials board has that little something extra to enusre your dining experience is a step up from the ordinary.

Not forgetting, we obviously stock a large selection of beers, lagers, ciders, spirits and wines as you would expect to find in any good Yorkshire Pub. Oh and we are told the tea and coffee is pretty good too!
